Feeling low?
Researchers at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Oxford are seeking volunteers aged 18 – 45 with low mood for a transcranial direct current (tDCS) study. The purpose of this study is to examine how non-invasive brain stimulation can affect neural activity during decision-making and information processing tasks. The results of this study will inform future research on intervention targets for psychological disorders such as depression and anxiety.
This study involves an online pre-screening questionnaire, followed by one screening session to conduct a short structured clinical interview. Eligible participants will be invited to attend two tDCS sessions at the John Radcliffe Hospital at the University of Oxford, taking no more than 1.5 hours each. Participants will be asked to fill out mood and anxiety questionnaires and perform a computer-based learning task while receiving sham or active tDCS.  Participants will be reimbursed for their time and travel expenses, and will have the chance to win additional money in the computerised tasks.
