One Essex Court is a leading set of barristers’ Chambers, specialising in commercial litigation and arbitration.
Fewer women than we would like are applying for a career at the Commercial Bar. In order to encourage women to consider this career, we are holding an information event on Tuesday 27 February 2018 in Oxford: White & Case Room at the Law Faculty, St Cross Building, St. Cross Roadd, Oxford, OX1 3UL:
6.00pm: Welcome drinks
6.15 – 6.45 pm: Talks by three women barristers
6.45 – 8.00 pm: Drinks with barristers and clerks from One Essex Court
Three female members of Chambers of varying seniority will give short talks about their experiences of life and work at the Commercial Bar followed by a question & answer session. There will then be an opportunity for students to talk informally over drinks to those and several other members of Chambers and clerks. The event is open to women and men and to law and non-law students. Students can book their place by emailing events@oeclaw.co.uk
For those who are unable to attend the event in Oxford, we will be holding a similar event in London on Tuesday 13 March 2018 which will be live-streamed. Oxford students are welcome to attend the London event or to watch the live-stream. For details, please see our website www.oeclaw.co.uk/pupillage/women-at-the-bar
